Hello, my name is Alicia Mumma, and I am the Director of St. Thomas Aquinas Early Childhood Center. All 3 of my children attended STAECC, and I am so happy to continue to be a part of this school. I earned my bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Central Florida in 2003 and worked for a few years in the sports and entertainment industry. After having children of my own, I changed career paths, and now I thoroughly enjoy every day I get to spend here with our preschoolers. I feel blessed to be a part of such a special place.
Hi, my name is Kari Glenny and I am the administrative assistant at St. Thomas Aquinas Early Childhood Center. I grew up in New Port Richey and returned after receiving my Bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Central Florida. I have three children, who all attended preschool at St. Thomas. I loved St. Thomas so much that when an opportunity arose to work at the preschool, I jumped at the chance. I truly love working with our amazing staff and families every day!

I wanted to share a little bit about myself, so that you could get to know me better. I have am married and have a son, Hayes, who also attends St. Thomas Aquinas. I graduated with my master’s degree in elementary education from The University of Tennessee in 2014 and then moved to Tampa to teach 5th grade. Hi! My name is Ashley Bravo, and I am excited to return to St. Thomas Aquinas for my second year. I graduated from the University of Illinois with my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I spent several years teaching Pre-K 3 and Kindergarten at the Basilica School of St. Mary Star of the Sea in Key West before I took a break to spend time with my growing family. My husband Mike and I love to travel and enjoy the outdoors with our son, Max, and our daughter, Amelia. Max and Amelia thrived while attending St. Thomas, and I am thrilled to help spread a love of learning and faith to the precious children in our class this year!
Magda is blessed and honored to be a part of STAECC family where she can use her previous experiences with children to help support the learning of the young minds. She believes that building relationships and learning through play are essential for the learning success for every child. Magda and her husband Robert have been married for over 20 years and have two wonderful children. She loves to travel, read, cook and spend time with her beloved family and friends. Magda graduated with an IT diploma, but after working in the corporate world, she decided to stay home to take care of her children while they were at school. Magda has been a catechist for over eight years, she graduated from the Lay Pastoral Ministry Institute of the St. Petersburg Diocese with the LPMI Diploma. Magda recently earned her CDA and is excited to continue working with the two’s!

Hi! My name is Janine Penland and I am an EC2 teacher. I am looking forward to a year of learning, fun, and adventures.
I am a graduate of the University of South Florida. I began my career as a social worker and after seven years I decided to go back to school to become a teacher. I earned my teaching certificate while working as a Special Education Teacher in a middle school. In 2002, I switched gears and began teaching preschool at St. Thomas Aquinas ECC. I earned my National Child Development Associate as well as my Director’s Credential while working here. In 2008 I decided to open my own school in Spring Hill, Florida. I opened with 25 children, and it grew with great success to serving 250 children, annually. Recently, I sold my business to go back to what I love, which is being a teacher in the classroom.
I am married and have two children that are graduates of St. Thomas Aquinas ECC. My son and daughter both attend the University of Central Florida. You may see my daughter volunteering here from time to time, as she still remembers wonderful things about being a student here!
I am so thankful for my return to St. Thomas and look forward teaching your children to love learning!
